MEASURE C: RFQ ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES

MLUSD is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from full service architectural and engineering firms (“Firms”) to provide architectural and/or engineering services for the construction of various rehabilitation, modernization, new construction and modular building projects that will be principally funded by the District’s Measure C, a $7.5 million General Obligation Bond.  CLICK HERE for more information

Measure C: Public Information Regarding Facility Needs

Measure C was approved by local voters in June 2016 and Proposition 51 was passed by California voters in November 2016.  To view the projects approved by the Mother Lode Trustees for OPTION 1 click here.

     

Staff and community offered suggestions or asked questions during the Facility Master Plan Update meetings in February. The suggestions/questions and responses can be reviewed here. On January 27, 2016, the Board approved Resolution 15.16.05 , to place a General Obligation Bond on the June 7, 2016 ballot. It is Measure C. The Community Engagement Committee's Written Consensus Report was created December 14, 2015 and presented to the Board on January 13, 2016.

California Healthy Kids Survey Week- January 31, 2017 through February 10, 2017

     The California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) is the largest statewide survey of resiliency, protective factors, risk behaviors, and school climate in the nation. Across California, the CHKS has led to a better understanding of the relationship between students’ health behaviors and academic performance, and is frequently cited by state policymakers and the media as a critical component of school improvement efforts to help guide the development of more effective health, prevention, and youth development programs. Administering the CHKS in MLUSD:

  • Allows our schools and district to monitor whether we are providing the critical developmental supports and opportunities that promote healthy growth and learning.
  • Assesses health risks, specifically relating to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) use; school violence; physical health; resilience and youth development; and school climate.

     Please look for California Healthy Kids Survey participation permission slips being sent home this week with your student. Students in 5th and 6th grade must have a signed permission slip from their parent/guardian before they can participate in the survey. Students in 7th and 8th grade need a parent signature only to "opt out" should their parent/guardian decide the student is not to participate in the survey.

     Please note: The survey is in full compliance with all state (California) and federal regulations. Special attention has been paid to ensuring the confidentiality and privacy of the data, and that all student and parent rights are met.

MLUSD 2015-2016 Reclassified Students

Herbert C. Green Middle School and Indian Creek Elementary School are proud to announce the reclassification of 18 English language learner students (8 from HG and 10 from IC)) who have met California’s and Mother Lode Union School District’s criteria to be redesignated as “Fluent English Proficient”. This academic milestone recognizes student success in overcoming the additional challenges students face in learning English as a second language. These newly reclassified students received certificates for their accomplishment at their school’s awards celebrations. It was a special moment not only for our students, but their families, and our teachers and staff.
