Calling all creative Miners!
We’re looking for an original student-designed cover for the 2025–2026 Herbert Green Middle School Yearbook.
This year, students get to create their own theme — something that represents the spirit, energy, and memories of our school year!
Your artwork must include:
Design your cover on 8.5 x 11 inch paper (portrait orientation).
“Herbert Green Middle School”
“2025–2026”
A creative theme/title that represents our year (you come up with it!)
Artwork must be school appropriate and your original creation.
It will be copied exactly as submitted, so make sure your design is bold, colorful, and easy to read.
On the back of your artwork, clearly write:
Your full name
Grade level
Miner Block teacher
Add a 1–2 sentence explanation of your theme somewhere on the back or on a sticky note because we’d use your theme throughout the whole yearbook if selected!
Judging and Prizes:
The winning design will be printed on the front cover of the 2025–2026 yearbook.
Runners-up may have their designs featured inside the yearbook or on the back cover. Featuring a Miner (our mascot) of some sort MIGHT persuade judges!
Deadline:
All submissions are due by Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Turn in to Mrs. Sturgeon (Room 11) or your Miner Block teacher.
Theme Ideas:
You can come up with anything that fits our Miner spirit! Here are a few examples to spark ideas:
“Digging Deeper” –Miners discovering new things about ourselves and others
“Golden Memories” – celebrating the bright moments of our year
“Shine On” – showing how our Miner pride lights up the school
“Unearthed” – Miner digging/uncovering friendships, knowledge, and growth
“Our Time to Shine” – teamwork, success, and school pride
“The Next Chapter” – new beginnings and shared stories
